Welcome to the Ballina Malibu Club

Welcome to the Ballina Malibu Club. This non-profit organisation was established in 1990 to offer longboard surfers in Ballina an opportunity to raise the level of their surfing ability through competition at local, regional, and national levels. The organisation now has around 35 members and holds monthly competition rounds and regular social events. We are a small, friendly, family-focused club.

The Ballina Malibu Club meets on the first Sunday of each month (except January) at 7:00am in the Flat Rock carpark. Most competition rounds are held at Flat Rock. New members are always welcome.

Flat Rock is a flat reef extending some 100 metres seaward offering protection from southerly winds and producing a shapely right-hand reef break and sometimes even a curling left-hand beach break.

We has some great waves in the April comp round. Here's hoping the next comp on Sunday 6th May is just as good.
